You can make PSP comics from scratch, or you can convert your existing comics to a file type that the PSP can handle. I can't tell you how to make comics that are readable on the official PSP comics reader that was added to the system in a recent firmware update--I expect you have to go through Sony to do that. But I can show you an easy way to make PSP-friendly comics using the device's ability to display graphics files.
Page Format for PSP
The first thing to think about is the format of your pages. If you want to make comics from scratch that are tailored to the PSP's screen, you need to end up with images that are 480 pixels wide by 272 pixels high. That's 6.667 inches by 3.778 inches at 72 dpi. 72 dpi is screen resolution, so if you work with your files at that size, you'll know exactly how they will look on the PSP screen.
You can also convert existing comics for the PSP, or make comics from scratch that are larger than the PSP's screen and they will still be readable. Just keep in mind that your readers will have to pan, scroll and maybe even zoom to read them. I'll talk about this nearer the end of this article, so if that's your aim, you might want to skip ahead a bit.
