PSOne Classic

From

Definition:

Noun: A game that was released on the original PlayStation system (a.k.a. PSOne, PS1, or PSX) that you can now download and play on the PSP and PS3. These games are available for purchase in the PlayStation (PSN) Store, with a lot of the greatest hits already available, and more being added all the time. Some of these games were never released outside Japan prior to their appearance in the PSOne Classics. They cost from US$5.99 to $9.99 at regular prices, and average about 400 MB in size (though especially large games can be nearly 2 gigabytes).

The PS1 came out in 1995 and games for it were still being released beyond the year 2000, so the potential library of PSOne Classics is enormous.

Pronunciation: PEE-ess-wun KLA-sic
