It's only the second Hidden Object Game (aka HOG) for the PSP, and the first "interactive HOG." While it pretty much follows the standard Hidden Object Game setup, with a thin storyline to frame a bunch of pretty pictures with things in them you have to find, The Mystery of the Crystal Portal does add some interesting innovations that elevate it somewhat above others in the genre.
