Guide Review - Joytron System Skin Case for PSP-1000 (aka PSP Fat)
Once in place, though, the case is surprisingly durable and does a good job of keeping the PSP's shiny finish scratch-free. All of the ports, lights and buttons are easily accessible due to spaces left open in the case's design. The unit I tested was a nice matte black that doesn't take fingerprints and looks pretty cool (the PSP-2000 model I reviewed previously was transparent, allowing the original look to show through). The System Skin Case is also available in a variety of other colors, both matte and metallic, so there's probably something to suit everyone's taste.
Coupled with the official Sony soft pouch, this case offers decent protection for your system, if you want to avoid the bulk of a hard case like Logitech's Play Gear Pocket (still my first choice in PSP-1000 cases). You'll have to add some kind of screen protector, though, as this case doesn't cover the screen at all.
The only reason I won't be keeping this case on my older PSP (my PSP Slim lives in one all the time) is that it adds just enough bulk that I can't fit the PSP on to my external speakers/charging dock. Since my old PSP mostly does jukebox duty these days, that's a real disadvantage). Also, it won't fit in a Play Gear Pocket.
Joytron's System Skin Cases, made for both the older PSP and the slim PSP-2000 (see my review of that case here[link]), are distributed in North America by Nuri Tech.
