A couple of sites (like PSP Updates, Kotaku and GamerBytes) are reporting a series of Pinball Heroes games for the PSP in the works. The reports are based on ratings for four Pinball Heroes games on the ESRB website (all are rated E - Everyone, incidentally). These games, which will almost certainly be PSP Minis games, are each based on a different hit game. While they will be traditional pinball video games, the themes and art work will be based on other games. The four games so far listed by the ESRB are:
- Pinball Heroes: High Velocity Bowling
ESRB listing: "Players use flippers to hit the ball toward pins, bowling balls, or a jukebox target to earn points." - Pinball Heroes: Hot Shots Golf
ESRB listing: "Players use flippers to hit the ball into a miniature putting green, around a water hazard, and onto fairway targets to score points." - Pinball Heroes: PAIN
ESRB listing: "Players control flippers that cause balls to slide over manhole covers, cross over street ramps, and bounce off construction-colored bumpers. The game contains over-the-top sound effects, which are triggered when the ball bounces off certain bumpers: a character screams, 'Ouch,' 'yeow,' 'oww,' and 'ugh'; there is commentary such as 'Show me where it hurts,' 'This is going to hurt me more than it hurts you,' and 'What am I a trampoline?'" - Pinball Heroes: Uncharted
ESRB listing: "Players use flippers to hit the ball around a crashed airplane, into silhouetted character targets, and off bumpers shaped like gold coins to score points."
If, as seems likely, these are PSP Minis, they should be nice and inexpensive, and I'll be picking up the Uncharted one for sure.
