More PSP-3000 Colors for Japan

As part of what is to be called the "Carnival Colors" line, Sony is releasing the PSP-3000 in "Vibrant Blue" and "Radiant Red" next week, but they're only available in Japan. They're pretty flashy, and I know I'd be sorely tempted by the blue one. So why is it that North America only gets the 3000 in black or silver and only in the Ratchet and Clank bundles again? Either a bundle with a game I don't have or a PSP in a color I haven't seen before would make me buy the 3000 model for sure. (Via PSP Updates, who have pics.)
