Exploit for PSP-3000

Sunday January 4, 2009
It's not homebrew yet, but hackers are one step closer to running their own programs on the PSP-3000 model. The three-year-old game GripShift, it turns out, has a buffer overflow exploit that will even work on the newest, and most hack-protected, PSP model, the 3000. You can't really do much with it yet--it doesn't look like anyone has even managed a Hello World on a PSP-3000 yet, but it's probably only a matter of time. (Via PSP Updates and PSP World.)

It puzzles me that Sony makes it so difficult for hackers and homebrew developers with the constant upgrades and updates. Embrace this community and sell more units as they will hug you back, sony!
