Joytron System Skin Case for PSP Slim Review

Tuesday February 12, 2008
If you are looking for a case to keep your PSP safe from harm, there are a lot of possibilities. This week I have a look at one one them: Joytron's System Skin Case for PSP Slim. Joytron also makes a case for older model PSPs (which I'll review soon). More Info:

I purchased this case off of eBay and it does exactly what I wanted…to protect the factory finish, not as an invisibility case that I have to remove my PSP from when I want to play. I want to take it out of my pocket/pack and play. I would purchase it again.

This case, the clear plastic case, is perfect for what I want.

When I first opened the box I wasn’t sure if the thinness of the plastic would be a problem. I really does add to the lightness of the Slim PSP, however, and the PSP itself is all the support that the case needs. I don’t think I would want it thicker.

It is meant to protect the factory finish of your PSP and that is what it does. It will not protect it from impact very much. I like this more than a bulky case that I can’t fit into my pocket. I use it with a screen protector and I love it.

All of the buttons are easily accessible as well as all ports. The UMD slot opens smoothly and I now don’t worry about scratches.

It came in 4 pieces and each piece fit perfectly and was super easy to install. There is no sliding around like the rubber cases tend to do. I would by this product again for sure. I got mine on eBay, but it is just as cheap to go directly to their website at Nuri Tech - Joytron

Everything you read is true! After reading a multitude of reviews about various crystal clear cases for the PSP slim model and checking about case in B&M stores, I finally chose to get the joytron (nuritech) case. I was a relief to find that Nuritech actually did what no one else could – they produced a case that fits PERFECTLY. Every connector port, button, and door is fully accessible, and yet my psp is completely protected from dust, scratches, and fingerprints. The case also adds very little bulk, so that my psp still fits in a soft travel case for extra protection on the road. Just like other reviews said, he appears too thin when you take it out of the box – but it took 2 seconds to snap it on my PSP and voila! Any other case will pale in comparison!

Recently I decided to purchase a PSP slim. Anyone who’s held this piece of electronic in their hands knows it’s a perfect marker board for finger prints and feels a bit fragile compared to the NDS. So, like any gamer who has a sense of responsibility to properly care of an expensive piece of electronic which mostly likely is to be used to death, I decided to search for a PSP case. Lo and behold I find the Joytron’s Slim Skin Case.

The case was ordered on a Monday and arrived three days later, which is quite impressive. Everything was packed well. I immediately set to attach the case to my brand new PSP. The parts were relatively easy to put on and I had no problems. The entire case hugged the PSP just right, left just enough space for the buttons and didn’t get in the way of gameplay. The case even provides easy access to the UMD slot which is quite nice. While the case is attached to the PSP it does not obstruct basic usage and access to most parts and I get to appreciate the PSP to its fullest.

One thing you will require however, if you want to fully cover your PSP, is a screen protector because the Joytron System Skin Case does not provide coverage for the screen. Most cases do not have a screen protector though and it is not too much of a problem to buy a screen protector in addition. There are many available including one which Joytron makes.

While the case is one of the more expensive ones out there, about 20 USD, its well worth the price compared to the cheaper quality ones that make your PSP slim look and feel like a brick. It provides the right amount of coverage and isn’t too chunky. I’m really happy with the Joytron case. It even comes with a useful little stand perfect for watching movies on the PSP.

The Joytron crystal clear plastic skin for Sony PSP Slim system is Fantastic! It snaps together in 3 places, UMD cover is accessible along with all connectors and switches.

Remember the skin really helps keep dust and fingerprints off the PSP and keep your system looking great, the skin is not a hardcover case.

I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this skin to others who may be looking for a protective cover to keep their PSP looking great.

The Joytron case for the PSP Slim fits perfectly over the system. It covers the PSP completely, there is no need to remove the case, only to access the battery. It protects my PSP from scratches and fingerprints. The only thing I’d suggest is a screen protector. The product is inexpensive and it shipped very quickly.

I just got the clear Joytron case for PSP slim from Nuritech and was immediately impressed with how easy it was to put on and how cool it looked on my red God of War PSP. The case comes in 4 pieces which snap together
fairly intuitively. All ports are unobstructed and gameplay is totallyunimpeded by the case. Even the UMD door can be opened and closed with no problems at all.

The case will protect from scratches nicks and dings, however the screen remains exposed. I just got a screen protector which can be replaced after it gets too worn. I put the PSP in an sunglasses pouch with a drawstring
to close when commuting which keeps everything safe from scuff marks etc.

Having recently purchased a God of War PSP pack, I found myself in need of a case for my PSP-2000. I bought a carrying case, but didn’t really think that it was enough.

Upon a recommendation from a co-worker, I purchased a Joytron System Skin Case from Nuri Tech’s Amazon storefront. There are a few different versions available — I chose the crystal one.

It didn’t look like much upon it’s arrival and the plastic felt a little flimsy. It snapped onto the PSP very easily and didn’t add much bulk to the system at all. All of the buttons remain open and usable, and there is a protective cover for the UMD door which allows it to operate normally.

The screen is exposed with the skin, so you’ll still want to have a screen protector (and you’ll want to do a better job applying it than I did). How much protection the skin actually adds is questionable, but I’d rather take my chances with it than without it. I won’t be drop-testing my PSP with it, but it will remain much safer in my messenger bag now.

Overall, I’m very happy with this case (I’m not sure why they call it a skin — since, to me at least, that implies a silicon case rather than hard plastic). I am a clumsy oaf, so I always tend to err on the side of caution with small (especially portable) electronics. For that reason alone, I totally recommend it and will be checking out some of the other Joytron cases for my DS Lite now.

I purchased the Nuri Tech Joytron System skin case in preparation to take my Psp on a trip to peru… I didn’t want it getting scratched and scuffed while I traveled… The case arrived very quickly and contained a free stand for watching movies and a hand written note thanking me for my purchase! (Unreal I know sounds like a movie!) The case snaps on in 4 pieces snug around the psp and fits like a glove the thin material ensures that gaming is not akward and that the psp is still a “slim”… The design enables use of all of the ports and buttons as well as unconstricted use of all of the buttons.. It won’t feel like you even have a case over your psp… the design is that good! all this and to think you don’t have to take the case off to change the umd disc…. equals a super sweet case at a super sweet price…

I recently bought the Joytron case from ebay and was delighted with the product. Previously I was using a zip up case, which would only protect the PSP unit from impact if it was in the case. I needed a case that protected the unit from scratches, dust and fingerprints. I was sick of cleaning the psp after every time I used it.

When I read the reviews about the Joytron case, I knew I had to try it. The installation was quite simple, but had to make sure everything clipped properly. The case isn’t bulky and does not add extra weight to the unit, and a major plus is that all the peripherals can be connected to the psp without obstruction.

I was extremely delighted with the service and the delivery period having purchased it from Ebay and living in Australia. It only took 3 days which is first class service.

Simply an AMAZING all round case!

The case looks and works exactly as described! It is very low profile so it doesn’t get in the way of the controls, which is something I was afraid of. The UMD door cover is a great idea and so far the locking tabs have held up extremely well. I really like the look of this case on my PSP, not to mention the added protection it offers. So far, I haven’t seen any other case that offers the same protection without being too bulky.

I just received my Joytron PSP slim clear case in the mail today. First of all, extremely fast shipping…I ordered the product on Tuesday and it showed up at my door on Thursday. This thing is amazing! I bought my PSP slim a few weeks ago. I wanted to get a case to protect it but everything I saw was just too big and bulky. Why buy the “SLIM” if you’re going to put it in a huge case. In my search for something better, I stumbled across the Joytron website. They just looked like quality, stand-out products. Every single item has tons of high res pictures so there are no surprises. AND, not only did I receive a high quality case from these guys, I got an actual hand written letter from them thanking me for my purchase! It’s that kind of service level that is going to take this company to the top. Do yourself a favor and buy one of these cases today! You won’t regret it!

I’ve owned the Logitech Playgear Pocket for my PSP (Fat version). It was a serviceable case that protected my system during transport. However, because the case was too clunky to play with it on, I was still required to remove the unit while playing. As a result, I still ended up with slight scratches on my system.

I recently purchased a PSP Slim and I was looking for a better solution for protection. My search on Google for “best PSP slim protection” returned the Joytron Crystal Skin case. I proceeded to read numerous reviews on the case - which were primarily positive experiences. I was particularly attracted to the extremely slim design, crystal clear plastic, and easy access to the essentials without the removal of the case (unlike the Logitech). So I plunked $20 for the Joytron case. None of my local shops carry it, so I had to order it online through Amazon. You can also order it directly from http://www.nuritech.us/.

Shipping was super fast with email communication. It comes in a box with Korean writing on it. English instructions were provided inside. I also received a complimentary portable mini stand allowing me to prop up the PSP to watch movies on a table. One thing to remember is that the case does NOT protect the screen. This allows you to apply/replace a screen protector of your choice. I applied the Invisible Shield by Zagg to my screen prior to installing the case. Case was pretty easy to install. You just have to be careful not to damage the hooks that holds the pieces together…as they feel a bit fragile. Installation was very easy - it took about 15 minutes. Everything fits very snuggly around the system.

With the case on, my PSP Slim feels quite nice to play without very noticeable bulk. Paired with the Invisible Shield, I can confidently put it into my pocket quickly without juggling with a separate case. Offers protection from scratches and fingerprints. However, because of the slim design, it will not protect the PSP from drops. I highly recommend this case!

I recently bought a Joytron red chrome clip case for my psp slim and am very happy with it. It clips on very easily and does not fall off like other brands. Also it provides easy access to all the buttons, lights, memory stick slot, power input, and especially the umd door since it has an independent piece to go over the door unlike other brands which have one piece on the back and you have to take the entire back off in order to change games. And it protects your psp from scratches. Although it does show finger prints. So in my opinion this is the best option to change your psp’s color as opposed to taking it apart and replacing the entire shell and buttons.

Just got product 9/26/08 and ordered 9/24/08. Product fit like a glove along with the invisible shield on my PSP 2000. This product does not add weight as I said it fits like a glove. Easy installation. All the button are accessible and unit is safe from dings, scratches and etc. One thing that can be added to this product is the invisible shield screen protector because product does not protect screen. This product come with a kick stand, from seller Nuri tech, which is a plus when you want to watch movies. Will buy other product from Joytron and will reccommend product.
Thanks

I purchased the Joytron Skin for Slim PSP in red leather feel. It fits great with a low profile. It is very secure and you almost cant tell it is there. It covers almost any part of the PSP that you can think of while maintaining total control of all the buttons. I like that it covers the whole back including the umd door, unlike many other covers. It looks great, fits great, protects great. You just cant go wrong with the Joytron System Skin for PSP 2000!

I ordered a PSP for my 10-year-old and needed to make sure the system was as protected as possible. This case is great. He won’t complain about a bulky cover (like the Nerf cover some of his friends have for their DS systems), but the system is protected. The shipping was great. It arrived early. Also, the shipment included a free, portable mini stand.

One day after school i was walking home very tired when i noticed there was this package in my door so i grabbed it and took it in my house and i started opening it when i saw it the Joytron skin case. i started to open it and i read the instructions wich are very easy to understand if you are a bigginer. so i had put all of it together and it looked very astonishing. every thing was very easy to get to like the chrging output the USB and the memory stck slot. But the thing that was most pleasing was the UMD door it was free and could open not like those other case that first you need to take it apart and then open the UMD door. overall this is the best case i have ever had and if you know me i had alot (24) but the all were too bulky or not comfterble to handle also it feels like a regular PSP without a case and looks good on my PSP out of 10 i give it a 11.
